Painting
The limited Palette:
White Lead (or substitute - but not titanium or zinc white),
Yellow Ochre,
Light Red, Indian Red (or Cadmium Red light),
Raw Umber, Ivory Black
Medium: One-part each: stand oil/liquin/turpentine
To be diluted as necessary with additional turpentine
Brushes: Four each filbert hogs approximately 1/4 and 3/8 and 1/2 inch
(there is no standard number system for brush sizes, so use these as a guide)
Larger filbert bristles for laying-in and backgrounds (3/4 and 1 inch)
1/4 and 3/8 filbert sables for modelling
A small round sable for highlights
Canvas: For cast and portraits - 20 x 24 fine linen (beginners can use cotton)
For figure - 30 x 20 fine linen (beginners can use cotton)
Other: Palette, palette knife, dippers, white spirit
