Run by internationally renowned sculptor and art historian Jason Arkles and award winning artist Alastair Barford, this course introduces the student to sculpting from life using the principles of sight-size.

Week 1: The Portrait in Clay
From initial calliper measurements, to hollowing out the finished head, students learn to sculpt a life-size sight-size portrait bust in clay.

​

Week 2: The Figure in Clay
Starting with the construction of a simple armature, students are guided through the process of sculpting an under life-size figurine.
